Hack-a-thons

A brief, but noble collection of my hackathon projects.

Mila 2.0 – 2nd Place

PROJECT

TEAM

The team was Pou Dimitrijevich (me) on Visual Design and animation.

Smule Smack-a-thon. 07/2017.

Without any client support available, I had to go solo. I decided to use this opportunity to learn something I've always been interested in, animation.  I created a couple animations of my muse Mila and imported them into our company Slack channel. Tbh my dog is kind of a big deal in the office, so the win actually belongs to her.

Glance – 2nd Place

PROJECT

TEAM

Using Foursquare's API to track/organize data and leveraging device geo-location, we built a feature that matched users based on their local and social interactions. This feature, which we called Glance, offered users a more optimized selection of suitors.

Our team was Patrick Foubert on API, Martin Patfield on Client, and I was responsible for the UI/UX. Shout out to Keith Krueger for hooking up Hadoop.

Photo Concierge – 1st Place

PROJECT

TEAM

Users often struggle to select the perfect photo for their dating profile. To assist them with this important dating decision point, we created a feature that would help users select the best profile photo based on the social interactions in their Facebook photo album. The logic was simple, the photo that generates the most social traffic (likes) is placed in the first slot of your dating profile library. This first photo slot, because your default profile photo.  This feature, can help existing users organize their dating photo library, or help new users import their most likable library.

Our team was Patrick Foubert on API, Martin Patfield on Client, and I was on UI/UX.
